Make more of your PDFs.
PDFtextflow helps you reuse text, update a document, and find the right page without installing desktop software. Choose from six free online PDF tools for everyday work, school, and research. Each tool processes your document in your browser, with no account or watermark. Start with the task you need, then review and download the result.
Keep control of your files.
There is no document upload queue: your file stays on your device while the tool runs in the current tab. This is useful when working with a draft resume, meeting notes, or an internal report. The site still downloads the software it needs, and OCR downloads language data on first use. Keep the tab open until processing finishes. Your original file stays unchanged because results are saved as separate downloads.
The tools work in modern desktop and mobile browsers. For a quick extract or a short outline, start on the device you already use. For long documents or high-resolution scans, a computer with more memory may be more comfortable. File complexity and device resources affect processing time, so review a few pages before starting a large job.
Convert PDF to text without retyping.
The PDF to Text converter extracts words already embedded in a PDF. Use it to copy passages from a report, collect notes from a reading assignment, or turn a PDF into an editable text file. Open your document, select all pages or a range, and extract the text. Copy the result or download TXT for plain text and JSON for page-level results.
Need to convert a scanned PDF to text? Choose Scanned PDF to Text for optical character recognition. Select the document language and review the recognized words, especially names and numbers. Clear, upright scans give better results. Neither extraction method reproduces the PDF’s visual layout; columns and tables may need cleanup.
Text to PDF: choose the right workflow.
A text to PDF converter creates a new PDF from typed words or a text file. To convert text to PDF for free, open your text in an editor with printing support, choose Print, and select Save as PDF. Preview the page breaks before saving. PDFtextflow’s Add Text to PDF tool works with a PDF you already have: add a name, note, or label, set its position, and adjust size and color. To replace existing selectable words, choose Edit PDF Text.
Before sharing an edited file, reopen the download in your usual PDF reader. Check the text you added, confirm page order, and test a few bookmark destinations. Save the output with a different filename so your original is easy to find. If you are extracting text for a spreadsheet or another document, copy a small sample first to check its reading order. This quick review helps catch missing spaces, mixed columns, or recognition mistakes before they reach your next project. You can return to another tool whenever your document needs a different kind of change.
Add PDF bookmarks for easier navigation.
The PDF Bookmark Editor adds clickable destinations to long documents. Open a PDF, add a descriptive bookmark title, and choose its target page. Group subsections beneath chapters, reorder entries, and download the bookmarked PDF. You can also export an outline as JSON to reuse later. Bookmarks appear in compatible readers’ outline panels; they do not become visible page content in a standard printout.
For a report with clear headings, create PDF bookmarks automatically. Adjust heading detection, generate a draft, and check its titles and destination pages before saving. Image-only documents need manual bookmarks.

A few good
questions.
Less guessing. More getting things done.
Are these PDF tools really free?+
Yes. All six tools are free to use, without an account, subscription, or watermark. There are no hourly task quotas. Large files are limited by the memory available on your device.
Do you upload or store my files?+
No. PDF processing happens in your browser. Your files and extracted text are held in this tab’s memory. OCR downloads its engine and language files, but never sends your document to them.
Can I use these tools on my phone?+
Yes. The tools work in modern mobile browsers. Large PDFs and OCR need more memory and processing time, so a desktop may be more comfortable for longer documents.
What’s the difference between PDF to Text and OCR?+
PDF to Text reads words already embedded in a PDF. OCR recognizes words from scanned page images. If you cannot select text in your PDF reader, try the scanned PDF tool.
Will my original PDF change?+
Your original file stays untouched on your device. Changes are saved into a separate download, so you can keep both versions.
